Summer Whites and HeART Art at CAMP Rehoboth
Despite the cool temperatures, Memorial Day weekend was all about the summer season. Jim D’Orta and Jed Ross and guests showed off their summer whites at the annual Hilda Mae Snoops Memorial Day Croquet Tournament at their Silver Lake home in Rehoboth Beach. At CAMP Rehoboth, HeART of the Community Artist Rod Cook conjures images of summer with his Seeing Blue Skies beach themed watercolor. SOS, Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen
Tickets are going fast for Abbamania at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on Saturday, July 27. Presented by Bruce Pfeufer and Jeffrey Kiley as a benefit for the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, the evening will feature performances of music made famous by Abba and The Bee Gees. Rolling Stone magazine calls Abbamania, “Incredible!” Tickets for Abbamania are now available online in the CAMP Rehoboth store.
Wedding Licences Available June 3
Delaware is still celebrating the passage of marriage equality in May of this year, In preparation for the July 1 effective date, Sussex County Clerk of the Peace John Brady reminds us that marriage licences are available up to 30 days prior to the ceremony date. Don’t miss out on your July 1 wedding plans. Licenses may be obtained at the Sussex County Marriage Bureau in Georgetown starting Monday, June 3.
Cool Pool Party Heats Up for CAMP
Don’t be left out in the heat! Chill out at the annual 6 Futcher Pool Party on Friday, July 5, from noon-6 p.m. Tickets for the party, which benefits CAMP Rehoboth, are available online in the CAMP Rehoboth store.

A friend of CAMP Rehoboth sent photos of the trash left behind on Poodle Beach on Sunday of Memorial Weekend. We can do better. Always leave the beach cleaner than when you arrived!
VOV Nature Trail Cleanup, June 1
The CAMP Volunteer on Vacation team will return to Cape Henlopen State Park, Saturday, June 1 at 8:45 a.m. for the annual National Trails Day clean-up. Join the fun at the Seaside Nature Center.
Rehoboth Museum Is Free to All
Admission to the Rehoboth Beach Museum at 511 Rehoboth Avenue is now free for all visitors.
Museum Director Nancy Alexander said, “We want to encourage more vacationers and residents alike to make visiting—and revisiting—the museum a must-do activity when they are downtown, and we think a no-charge admission policy will help achieve that goal”
Alexander said, “The Rehoboth Beach Museum has many stories to tell that we think are of interest to everyone—new visitors curious about the town’s turn-of-the-century Camp Meeting history, multi-generational vacationers who want to share Beach Patrol and Funland memories from the ‘40s, ‘50s, and ‘60s, or beach and beach-town lovers in general.”
“Our Board believes that the no-charge policy will encourage more people to stop in often on drives in or out of town, or to think of the Museum as a fun place to cool-down when they want to take a mid-day break from the hot beach and sun. Easy access, free parking at the Visitor Center/Museum parking lot will facilitate this,” she said.
As is customary with most admission-free museums, voluntary contributions from museum visitors will be encouraged through a “donation jar.”
Summer hours for the Museum are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
From New Orleans to Kathmandu! A World Cruise with Letters from CAMP Rehoboth
Letters recently celebrated an anniversary cruise with Carol Wzorek, Carlyle Gill, Michael Kerns, Dennis Fitch, Karen Kohn, Sue Potts, Frank Miller, and Al Naylor. The next stop was Kathmandu, Nepal and trekking through Tibet and the Himalayas with Annette Vella and Tony Hruza. Meanwhile back in the states, Sue Goudy gave Letters a taste of “The Big Easy” at the New Orleans Jazz Festival
